Brian Thomas

We are running from West Palm Beach, FL to Lake Orion, MI to raise awareness and funds for colon cancer.  My name is Brian Thomas.  I have been a runner all my life and became an educator to influence the lives of children. I have Run ten marathons, one ultra marathon, ran from MI to FL in 2002 to raise funds for a private school for children with Cerebral Palsy and autism, and have run the Keys100 with Brandon and Ramiro in 2009.

I never thought my influence would lead to the next big adventure. I was asked to mentor and train these two young men. I have committed my self to that task for the last four years, upon their year long requests, training them to run across the country.

I have been a teacher for the last Nine years. The last five have been at Okeeheelee Middle School. I am one of the founders of a boys mentoring program, The Bridge. I have also been the boys track and field coach. I am a recent recipient of the Dwyer Award, an award recognizing teacher in Palm Beach County that dedicate their time and energy outside of the class room. I am here to take that dedication to the fullest extent and to show our state, the country, and the world that there are living and breathing super heroes!
