The Surpise Birthday party!!

Happy Valentines Day!!  February 14th is Valentines Day to most but to a dear friend of mine, Robert Hebble, it is his birthday.  On this birthday he did what great men like Robert do.  Robert sacrificed his birthday to help the dream of two young men be realized and more importantly for colon cancer research to be funded.  Not only did Robert request that, instead of presents, his guests make donations to the Road Warriors and colon cancer research but we were also lucky enough to be the guest of honor.

Robert’s Birthday party was celebrated by friends from around the world.  Robert is a celebrated musician.  He plays the organ and has composed music that is played around the world.  His friend Chuck, who orchestrated the whole birthday party, catering, drinks, invitations, Road Warrior video and speech timing, and wedding caliber cakes, sang broadway quality “Happy Birthday”, sung by Bruce a professional singer and good friend of Chuck and Robert’s.

The quality of people there rivaled kings, queens, and visionaries throughout history.  I was proud of the boys for how they interacted with complete strangers for the first time.  They became more and more comfortable telling the story of a dream in the making, practicing, premeditating their route and their intentions.  It was the first time they told their story and they articulated the details extremely well.

Finally, thank you Chuck and Robert.  I am humbled by the true character that was demonstrated to the boys by this group of friends.  Its people like Chuck and Robert that push our team to go the distance and raise as much funding for colon cancer research as we can!
